Golden Greek Honey Pie (Melopita) is a delightful Mediterranean dessert that combines layers of buttery phyllo pastry with a creamy semolina filling, all drizzled with warm honey.   • 8 sheets phyllo dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer one sheet of phyllo in the dish and brush with melted butter. Repeat with six more sheets.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together semolina, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth. Pour over the phyllo.
  4. Top with the last sheet of phyllo, brushing with butter in between layers. Lightly score the top.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes.
  6. Drizzle warmed honey on top and sprinkle with sesame seeds before slicing and serving.
