  • 850g diced apples (about four medium)
  • 30g unsalted butter
  • 80g granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 125g pecan halves
  • 190g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 280g brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp plus 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp kosher salt
  • 115g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 225g cream cheese, room temperature
  • 250g powdered sugar, sifted
  • 12 Tbsp heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine lukewarm milk and granulated sugar; sprinkle with yeast and let sit until foamy.
  2. Mix in eggs and salt. Gradually add flour and butter until dough forms; knead until smooth.
  3. In a separate pan, sauté diced apples with butter, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and cornstarch until tender.
  4. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread apple filling evenly and sprinkle pecans on top.
  5. Roll tightly and slice into individual rolls; place in a greased baking dish.
  6. Let rise for about an hour until doubled in size.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25–30 minutes or until golden.
  8. For the frosting, beat together cream cheese, unsalted butter, powdered sugar, and whipping cream until smooth.
  9. Drizzle frosting over warm rolls before serving.
