  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature (113g)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed (200g)
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon powder
  • 4 oz cream cheese, room temperature (113g)
  • 1 cup icing sugar (100g)

Instructions

  1. Warm milk in the microwave (20-30 seconds) and whisk in yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Combine remaining dough ingredients in the bowl and mix into a shaggy dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 15 minutes until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 7-10 minutes.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with cling wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 60-90 minutes until doubled.
  5. For the filling, mix softened butter with cinnamon, sugar, and salt until spreadable.
  6. Roll risen dough into a rectangle (12×18 inches), spread filling evenly, then cut into strips and roll each into a cinnamon roll.
  7. Arrange rolls in a lined baking pan and let rest for another 30-45 minutes until puffed.
  8. Preheat oven to 350F and pour heavy cream over rolls before baking.
